Auburn/Alabama Football

Last year Auburn had a nice year in football. They won the National Championship and really pissed off a lot of people....namely Bama fans. The bottom line is that Bama can not accept losing to anybody and especially Auburn. It is like a personal attack for Bama to lose OR win a weekend football game. A GAME folks. It really got ugly last year when the trees at Toomer's Corner were poisoned by a "pissoffed" Bama fan.... a tradition in Auburn that had survived for years for the student body and general fans of Auburn University. What is next? Maybe those two teams should not play each other. There are not enough mature people in the state to deal with it in a civilized manner.

Josh and Kimmie's For A Few Days

This week I am in Pratteville, Deatsville, Pine Level and Marbury Alabama. I can't figure out where I am really with all these names for virtually the same place. I am staying with Josh and Kimmie a few days. I love to come down here and fart around. I usually tidy up and wash clothes the first day I am here and then go into Pratteville shopping. Got a cool Penny's there I like. We go to eat at night when Kimmie gets home. Last night we went to Za Za's downtown in Montgomery. It is an Italian place. Josh gets up and does his thing in the mornings and heads out to do the radio show at 11:30. Then he has interviews and writing to do for the newspaper. This weekend he is going to Mississippi to cover the Bama ballgame. He is busy this time of the year. Kimmie works every day at AWF. They are both busy people. I bring my babies with me...Molly, Doodle and Newton....and along with Josh and Kimmie's dogs....Lily, Louie, Bo, and Oscar....it looks like a dog farm around here. Needless to say we are dog lovers. But they all get along, except for little bitty Molly and king sized Oscar. For some reason Molly has it in for Oscar. She tears into him like she was a big ole bear. Oscar is oblivious to her. Funny though, the way it looks. Well better get up and get my chores down so I can go shopping. Josh won't like it if I leave something undone. He is the sweetest thang....and Kimmie is precious.

Catching Up

Long time no see uh? I actually forgot about blogging. I need to remember to do this. Lots of things have happened over the past few months. First of all, summer flew by. Why is that? We are so busy enjoying every smothering day and night we lose track of time. There are so many more things to do in the summer. Just going to the backyard is an event. We went to the cabin almost every weekend. The boys came up more this year than in the past several years. Even Josh and Kimmie came and spent a night or two. We cooked, floated, rode on the jet ski and the pontoon. Good times. This coming summer, there are some more "projects" that will need doing.
We sort of took a break from all those chores this year.

Nancy and Hollis brought Mamaw Moon up a couple of times. Mamaw went out on the boat with us one afternoon and if that cloud had not come up, she might have had to get in the water and floated. It was hot. Hollis saved up lots of words of course and kept us all entertained.

We had Mamaw Moon's 90th birthday party this fall. It was in Centre Alabama at the Education Building. Lots of food and fun and lots of folks came out to wish her Happy Birthday. She is a very special person. Always has been...to me.

We have done lots of upkeep to the house this summer. Painted the outside, put down new flooring in the "Love Nest", got a new fireplace in the "Love Nest". The "Love Nest" needed a redo. Oh and got a new recliner for Booch.

I got a new doggy too. Newton. He is a Maltese. So sweet. Follows me every where I go all day long. Of course Molly and Doodle are still around and spoiled rotten. They all have on their little dresses and bows in the hair right now. It is getting cooler and I don't want them to get a chill.

Well this isn't my usual style of blog but I just wanted to keep a record of happenings. Before I forgot.

Tooter Won the AB Honor Roll Award

Tooter is in first grade and he has had a rough time adjusting to school, in general. Mostly because he likes doing what Tooter likes to do....not what school entails. So sitting still, listening, doing work, taking turns, following rules does not appeal to Tooter. However, he has done very well with it, as we can attest to by his grades this year. He can read, write and "cipher" like a pro...a first grade pro that is. Maybe even a second grade pro. At least, the learning comes easy for him. We all went to the Red Lobster last night to celebrate his award. Then we came back to Sissy's for a backyard game of baseball (with a sponge ball). We love you Tooter and we are so proud of what a sweet boy you have turned out to be.

The Baby is Married

About a week ago my baby Chip (Joey) and sweet little Tera were married in St. Thomas. They went alone, stayed a week, and had a wonderful time. They were married on the beach. Tera said it was really hot and they hurried to get out of their wedding attire so they could jump in the pool. They missed their flight back home and had to purchase new tickets....which was not cheap. Bless their little hearts. They had a nice reception/party the Saturday night after they returned home. The band was great. The food was wonderful. And the friends and family were as usual....nuts.
Me and Sox are so proud of Chip and Tera. They have a lovely home, beautiful yard, good jobs (that counts for a double) and have started a sweet wonderful life together. Best of luck and love to you both.

Blowing Off.

I have really been a slacker in my bloggin...and I know everyone has really missed it. Sure! I do it mostly for me....not others. I like to "vent" on certain things. I just have been so busy lately. Had Christmas and New Years to go through. And then Lewis and my dad had a birthday party. Valentines Day took a whole lot of time. I have been at the farm working on various things. Painted some great canvas paintings. Tera has had a Princess House party. We spent a week or more painting Chip and Tera's house so they could get moved in. Got me a new doggy...Newton.
I just didn't have the time to blog...and nothing had really pissed me off enough to blog about it....except all that friggin' rain...and this cold wind. I will be so glad to sweat again.

American Idol has captured my attention. I can't believe all the great talent they found this year...and the judges are not getting on my last nerve either. Favorites...Casey, James, Pia...in that order. Also been watching Modern Family. That show cracks me up and I hate TV sitcoms. My last favorite TV show was Barney Fife...if that tells you how I feel about TV. I used to like all the shows like the Dean Martin Show and Sonny and Cher. Loved Laugh In and Red Skelton. Tells you how old I am too uh> but I don't give a rat's butt about the age thing either.
You are as old as you want to be. After you make it to 50 and raise yo young'uns and they turned out good....that is long enough. Move on and let someone else have a shot at life.

The sun is shining today....and I feel like a different person...although I feel like crap today with a cold coming on. Got all kinds of aches and pains in every joint, muscle, organ I own but I DON'T CARE. Gonna keep on keeping on. Sometimes you just gotta suck it up and quit whining. Think about making a pie for somebody....that helps.
Hey, I forgot how relaxing this is....maybe I will start bloggin more again.
